CGI is how Trezor shows its hardware — full control over how every device looks, without losing touch with what it actually is.

The rule is realism

Renders stay true to the real product — real proportions, real materials, real finishes. CGI gives precision and control a photograph can't, but it's never used to flatter or fake. What you see is what the product is.

That truthfulness goes further than the surface

Trezor is open-source, and CGI is one of the few places that can show it — opening the device, revealing the architecture inside. Where most brands render a sealed object, Trezor can render an honest one.

CGI is reserved for hardware — devices, accessories, and the physical product — and for the abstract visuals that represent connecting with it. Anything beyond that, such as human, lifestyle, or conceptual imagery, is handled in the brand's illustration style, keeping each medium doing what it does best.

A render gives precision and control a photograph can't — full command over angle, light, and finish — so the product is always seen at its best, exactly as designed. It's how Trezor presents its devices true to life, without depending on a physical sample or a photo shoot.

Hero render

Clean, realistic renders of the full device — true proportions, true materials, true finish. This is Trezor as the product it actually is: the default way a device is shown across the brand.

Creative compositions

Beyond straight product shots, full renders can be arranged more freely — repeated, layered, set in motion. This is where the brand has room to be expressive, but freedom isn't licence: a composition still has to be considered and aesthetically resolved, never busy for its own sake. The arrangement is creative; the standard stays high.

Some things are best expressed through the hardware itself — a security capability, an architectural decision, the engineering beneath the surface. Instead of explaining it, we show it: the real components, exactly as they are. For a product built on open-source principles, that openness is the point — nothing to hide, by design.

Hardware macro

Close, detailed renders of the hardware itself — chips, boards, architecture. Macro shots make invisible security capabilities legible: showing the silicon a feature lives on turns a claim into something you can see.

Exploded views

The device opened into its layers — board, display, battery, housing — held apart to reveal how it's built. Exploded views make the construction legible and show there's nothing tucked away inside.

Components

Individual parts shown on their own — the secure element, the battery, the metal body. Isolating a single component turns an abstract spec into something concrete: this is the actual thing the claim is built on.

Simple by necessity

These visuals stay deliberately primitive — basic dynamic shapes around a real device render, nothing more. Reduced to the minimum needed to show an interaction and never decorated beyond it, they're a direct expression of Radical Simplicity . The device stays true to life; only the invisible part is abstract.

Motion as content

Connectivity is inherently temporal — a signal, an exchange, a moment of pairing — so these renders usually live in motion. This is motion as a specific thing being shown, not motion as a brand principle: the rhythm of the shapes follows the interaction it represents.

Patterns

The current set covers the core interactions: Bluetooth connectivity, NFC pairing, wireless charging, and payment. Each is reduced to the same primitive visual language, so different interactions still read as one consistent system.

Lighting

Lighting is used to enhance — not distract. It should emphasize the defining features of a product's industrial design — its contours, surface transitions, and form factor. Avoid hard, linear reflections; light should feel natural, soft, and intentional. Its role is to support clarity and showcase the product without overpowering it.

Materials

Material rendering must be faithful to the actual product. Surfaces, finishes, and textures should mirror reality — a matte backplate, a polished glass panel, a brushed metal edge. Accurately rendered materials communicate the quality, functionality, and tactile experience of the product.
